Terms of Service

Last updated: August 18, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Reddit Jail browser extension, this website, and the comment threads hosted on our service (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. This is a plain- language summary of a legal agreement, not a substitute for reading it, and nothing here is legal advice.

What Reddit Jail is

Reddit Jail is an independent, unofficial companion product that displays a comment thread alongside Reddit posts. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to Reddit, Inc. "Reddit" is a trademark of Reddit, Inc.; our use of it is purely to describe interoperability with Reddit's site, not to claim any affiliation.

Your account

You need a Google account to sign in and a display handle to post. You're responsible for activity under your account. Don't share your login, and tell us if you think your account's been compromised.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give us a license to host, display, and distribute it as part of operating the Service (for example, showing your comment to other users). Don't post anything you don't have the right to post.

Acceptable use

Follow the Community Guidelines: no spam, harassment, hate, or illegal content. Don't attempt to circumvent a suspension by creating new accounts (ban evasion), attack the Service's infrastructure, or use it to violate anyone else's rights.

Moderation and enforcement

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms or the Community Guidelines. Moderation actions taken against your account come with a stated reason. We don't guarantee reinstatement on appeal.

Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Nothing on this site or in the Service constitutes legal advice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reddit Jail isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You and Reddit Jail both agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, Canada for any dispute not otherwise resolved informally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above.
